i've been growing my hair out because i'd like for it to be longer overall, and the longer it is when they cut, the more options i have...but i think i've finally reached the point where it needs to be cut

where are some nice(r) places for a guy to get a haircut, where they know what they're doing? quite honestly, when it was shorter, great clips was fine, but now i'd actually like for someone with knowledge and experience to give me their opinion and cut it well

suggestions and prices?

i'm in the same boat as you quagmire, im letting mine grow in hopes to get a new style. Sick of just the normal "guy haircut" from hair cuttery. My hair is just so thick i have never found a longer style that really works for me (except when i was a stoner and had it long and shaggy).

and i can't be taking pictures of dudes in there with me and asking them to cut it like theirs.

^^ ahaha, that's exactly it! right now, it's curling up at the ends (which, when a bit shorter, didn't look too bad, but now it's just shaggy)...i have thick, fine hair, which makes it a bit of a nuisance at times

and yeah, i totally understand the taking pictures in with you thing

ha whenever I wanted to mess around with a new hairstyle

I went in and they have the pictures of the people smiling on the wall

So I pointed at one that looked OK and and was like 'cut mine like that, please;

and they're like 'oh you want the Nathan" ... they name their haircuts after peoples pictures

it looked good in the picture but came out all kinds of fucked up on my head

So I just got her to shave it back down like normal

Maybe I'm just not savvy on the hair terminology, but isn't that an oxymoron?

Sports Clips is good from what I've heard, but I enjoy rolling the dice at great clips. Accidentally ended up in a more 'enthnicly oriented' barber shop one time and ended up with a fade and pointy triangles on the front of my head....didn't look so hot with the white boy hairs

^^^^ that's straight up dennis rodman style, yo!

^^ agreed, but the way it was explained to me was that my hair is very thick (in that, i have A LOT of actual hair strands, and they're closely packed), but that the strands themselves are very fine

yeah, i paid $25 for a conair clipper set nearly a decade ago and for years cut my own hair (up to 1" in length, anyway)...i don't suppose there's much i can do to prove it, but no one could believe i'd done it myself since it looked perfectly even...it's not like it's hard...i cut both of my brothers' hair when they're home from school if all they want is something basic

it always embarrassed my parents because they were afraid people would think they refused to pay for haircuts

*shrug*

Slave Famous that was a mega-queer look.

just get it cut on the mall or some place downtown. (any downtown). if you ask for a basic haircut and nothing outrageous you should be fine.

i used to go to mitchells out in crossroads

cutting my own hair real short wasn't doing it for me anymore and i wanted someone to really give me a good haircut for like the first time ever

after doing that a while i got lazy and went into great clips and told them to cut it like it is except shorter and i liked it even more

so i go to great clips now and get the same black lady to do it every time

Allen at the Cost Cutters in Briar Creek is great. He will know how you want it cut, even if you cant really explain it. I think he owns the joint as well.

Awesome place by Moe's near Crossroads.

It is ~$11.50 for a basic cut and the place is ridiculously nice

If a dude and a girl are getting their hair cut by the same person, odds are one of them is a dyke or a faggot
