Can someone help me out on how to do this with perl?

i have about 500 directories
i want to go into each directory
if directory has ONE avi file (not 2), rename it to the dir name
if directory has TWO avi files (each will have cd1 or cd2 in it), rename it to dir name and add .cd1 to end (before extension)
