hey does the vet school do things for like charity or discount? my mom says the vet says our cats thyroid is fucked up and that he'll wither down to like 3 pounds if he doesnt get the opperation

^^The vet school is essentially a referral (speciality) hospital. So they don't do discounts or charity. Your best bet is to call around to local clinics if you are looking for a good price. I don't live in the area anymore so I can't tell you which clinics are better than others. I would just look at online sites like citysearch.com or yelp.com to gain some idea of the quality or prices.

I didn't want to start a new thread for something vet related.

But if anyone finds themselves in the Carrboro area of the triangle the vet clinic I work at is trying to raise some money for charity cases.

A recent example a little kitten named Boots. Someone who recently moved to NC found this kitten on the side of the road. It had apparently been throw out a car window and had busted its jaw. This person had just moved here and couldn't take in a kitten nor could she afford any pet care. The clinic donated the care & resources to suture his jaw and nurse him back to health. And subsequently an employee here adopted him.

Our fund for such cases is getting kind of low so we are selling some Carrboro Plaza Vet Frisbees ($5 each being sold now) & Tote Bags ($10 each starting on the 25th).
