Does anyone know of stores in raleigh or nearby that sell stylish shirts that white guys wear in clubs and shit. I'm talking about button down shirts with crazy designs or similar fitted T's. Ps- I'm not talking about Urban Wear.

Try the Belks Men's Store at Crabtree

They sell nice jeans, so I'm sure they'd have the shirts around that section!!!

anything you see that is actually stylish is going to be from a screenprinter, and not from any ass chain store.

you can tell someone got their shit from a store at the mall 10 miles away.

You want GOOD Stuff, here's one place to start: http://www.ahpeele.bigcartel.com/

Local, amazing screenprinter

also, http://bigcartel.com/stores in general is a great place to find unique and stylish stuff

Eh, if you wanna be a cheapass about it and like supporting contests, shirt.woot.com periodically has a design worth buying. I've bought a few t-shirts off there, and you can be pretty sure that you'll probably never run into anybody that buys shirts off that site (if you're trying to be exclusive or some shit).

They have different theme-oriented contests on there all the time. Some of the artists that win the contests are pretty good. Sometimes it's completely confusing random shit like that grilled cheese sandwich that's up there right now. Oh well, I just check it out each day and see if there's something I want. $10 isn't bad for a nice t-shirt. They fit nice too.

it's called the "preppy guidosexual" look... usually accompanied by way too much axe body spray, hot dog breath, and pit stains. exceptions do occur, but they usually have girlfriends.

the whole abstract screen printed t shirt fad is super lame. Get some nice REAL vintage tshirts off ebay or something. You couldn't pay me to wear anything from that Buckle store. Also, plain, CLASSIC, well-fitting clothes (ie. solid button ups, tshirts, jeans, trainers, etc) are always going to be your best bet unless you're one of the few people that can pull off really eclectic clothes. Well-Fitting being the key word there.

they have abstract print shirts at target.

TARGET.

find something else to wear.

clever prints are a different matter. i kind of like that one with the girl from the average white band covers on it.

I have to agree that wearing classics like solid-color dress shirts and solid tees will help you avoid looking like a trend-following douche. I have no problem with graphic t-shirts as long as they mean something to the wearer. I saw all this Hawaii-themed shit at Old Navy this week and doubted that more than 8% of the people buying it had actually been to Hawaii. Clothes emblazoned with huge designer logos are just tacky (Bebe, Hollister, etc.). I don't feel the need to advertise to the world that I spent $40 on a damn shirt.

If you're attractive and wear the trendy expensive shit, some slut or golddigger might nail you that night, but if a lady likes you when you're wearing stuff off Old Navy's clearance rack, she's a lot more worth your while for the long term. I was wearing $20 jeans and a $12 shirt the night I met my wife.

^exactly

Graphic tee's were started to get away from the bullshit big chain retailer garbage. Then of course they all started doing it, although you can easily tell the difference.

Hint: If your TEE has any indication on it of where you bought it from, or if it has a location on it different from where you pruchased said piece of apparel, it's stupid and you will look stupid wearing it

Flea: "You guys think I have this Black Flag shirt from back when I used to see them at house shows all the time, but you're wrong. I bought it at Fred Segal last week for forty-two dollars."

some people like the trends.

i forgot that because you wear that and some girl hooks up with you that she must be a golddigging slut. good call guys. you've really opened my eyes.

that said, i have a mix of things like AE/Buckle/etc. and regular plain clothes, but I like the style that those chains provide. Not everything they produce is great (in fact, I hate a lot of it), but if it fits well and looks nice/trendy and I don't mind that at all.

you look just as retarded as those kids that buy into that shit when you roll to the opposite end of the spectrum.

My point is, you pay a LOT more to buy shit from those places that are poor knockoffs and imitations of good, independent clothing lines. You buy what you want, but realize that you are paying a major premium for an inferior, mass market, homogenized product.

I always thought it was strange that people would pay money to wear a shirt with the store's name all up on it (american eagle, abercrombie). It's like you're paying THEM to be a walking advertisement for their store

some ppl do it to be cool, some ppl do it to support something they like. why buy anything with a sports team logo? why buy band t-shirts?
