Mine is still getting progressively worse

I went to the doctor yesterday for my 6-month exam (yes I go every six months), and he bumped it up from -7.25 to -7.50.

I've worn corrective lenses since I was 16, and over the past 10 years my prescription strength has gone from a -1.50 to -7.50. Neither of my parents wear glasses or contacts.

mine is -7.00 in one eye and -7.50 in the other

and i go every 6 months too. feel your pain. he keeps telling me i'll be a good candidate for surgery IF/WHEN my eyes ever stop changing. i think i'll be blind by then. in middle school he said it would slow down in high school, in high school it'd slow down in college, well now i'm out of college and they're still changing everytime

i can literally see nothing without contacts. my glasses suck and make me dizzy to put on because they're old...a couple of prescriptions behind.

i can see colors i guess. everything is just blury even if i am way up close to it. i can't even squint and see things.

I'm not a candidate for the surgery mainly because it isn't 100% reliable, and there's not a doctor who will take a chance on someone like me who has one good eye. My doctor won't even write me a prescription for contacts anymore (for my own good, he says), so I'm stuck with wearing glasses forever now.

I can't see shit when I don't have my glasses on, but get down to 20/30 when I wear them.

-0.5. I guess it feels different b/c I was always used to my really good eyesight that it bothers me. I have good VSP coverage so I just got some glasses for things like late night driving and watching movies.

damn this thread is interesting...i always considered people that had warts, had to wear glasses, were allergic to anything, etc to be inferior

-4.25,-4.75

My prescription finally stabilized around there a couple of years ago. My doc said that most people's eyes stop changing by the time they're 25 or so and hang there until middle age. But I think that having a baby has impacted my vision and I'm going to have to go back to get my prescription tweaked.

haha glasses people aren't inferior. people with allergies and glasses are usually nerdy. maybe they're inferior if you still need to hit a woman over the head with a club to have sex with her. but i think that joe#s and his phd probably prove that people with eye problems are doing alright

My husband needs reading glasses and has a severe latex allergy, but he was a Park Scholar and has two degrees.

i don't know many intelligent people who don't wear glasses or have some kind of allergy. if we killed off the 'inferior,' we'd have some serious stupid left over.

^^yes but that was one particular group...by killing the inferior people no one would have to worry about about diseases and stuff as much...it would make the earth better as a whole....only smart people would remain and everyone would be at peace and shit....i hardly say that compares to hitler....the good of the many outweigh the good of the few

there are good people of ALL races...we just get out the really bad ones...everyone else makes out ok...

for example

say we get rid of all handicap people

dont have to worry about ada requirements anymore, dont have to worry about handicap spots...dont have to devote the money to a small part of the population that drags the productivity of others down... i mean come on how is this not the "real" solution
