i learned that time actually slows down as it approches the spead of light, but mass increases exponentially (although i have no clue why this works). I did however learn how exactly a mass spectrometer worked and that i dont know how to throw a frisby 5/19/2008 3:37:06 PM

To get fresh water at sea:
Take a bigger bowl and fill it with sea water. Place a smaller bowl in the middle and use something to weigh it down. Place a garbage bag over the bigger bowl and tie it snug. Then use a small marble or bolt and put it in the center of the garbage bag. The condensation formed from the sea water will drip into the smaller bowl that you can drink.
I have heard of this before by digging into the ground and placing a bowl in which to catch condensation, but I never thought you could do it out on the sea as well. 5/19/2008 4:29:48 PM

use your wrist, not your forearm.
time slows down when near the speed of light because the mass and energy is increasing to near infinity. another cooler aspect of this is that any object near to a gravity well (source of gravity, planet, sun) proceeds slower through time. this is actually seen that people on earth pass through time slower than those orbiting. our GPS satellites have to correct for this on the order of 11min. per day (i think thats right) else they would outpace us. and those astronauts are aging faster.
but I learned that a single person can carry 2L of alcohol back into the US. which will be handy in july
