Yase indeed this is tribes. Its by Garage Games (they did the torque engine and t1/t2). Which means its in good hands.

In a world dominated by shit multiplayer brought by the continued dumbing down of games (thanks consoles) its nice to see a real movement based game.




If this isn't getting you hard you need to go back to your shitty console rail shooters and playtested-by-retards scrub shooters.

Right now its in closed beta. I missed the signups, but i guess open beta will be coming eventually. It will be free to play with probably payed extras. Its also somewhat browser based. http://www.instantaction.com .

The speed makes it hard to defend against, but then again those really pro players are able to kill those guys as they run away. Which makes flag relaying an important part of capping as well. The 3rd part of those 2 tribes 1 youtubs is on team work and they do some crazy shit. Like one guy tosses a nade down on the flag stand before grabbing the flag. Then as he lands on the flag the nade kills him and blows his corpse and the flag straight up where a teammate already inbound with massive speed grabs it in midair and heads torwards the cap.

The most skilled players ever played tribes 1. Newer games dont allow for as much freedom of movement which essentially brings everyone down to scrub level.

Its hilarious to see these noobs with their garbage console FPSes touting them as amazing and revolutionary when there was way better shit on PCs 10 years ago.

Overdrive and some of the associated moves seems like it would make it fucking hard to shoot anything. Capper would be overdriving back to base and D would be overdriving after him. Maps would have to be big so it wouldn't be too easy.

Tribes 1 had the best gameplay out of any game I've ever played. I used to be able to pull off some of the moves like in those videos...disc boost, mid air disc flag runner, then laser his ass, but some of that shit in there is just insane.

If people still played T1 I would so be on the servers right now

i loved the fucking disc launcher and all the crazy mods from the first two tribes. it was like you never knew what kind of game you were gonna play or what weapons you were going to have, and that fucking ruled. I remember this one map that was like a "Hive" of some sort where you have to battle your way to the bottom (and the map was a pretty good size) to fight all the people
