I have an old employee who is spamming our website to death posting rummors of his boss and other employees to all our current employee's emails. Can anyone track him by his IP address? If so can you give me a site or PM me and I will send the address to you?

your email server can/should just block his email address. no need to find his IP or anything. Is he sending from the same address every time?

We have 2 employees who are out on medical leave that we would like to offer their jobs back when their injuries are better. We are 95% sure it is from one of them because both had a problem with the way the insurance is handling the situation. We do not want to bring an employee back if he is going to act like a child about this and that’s why I am trying to track him down.

BTW both are grown men early 30's

well, if the guy is at all intelligent, he is going to a wi-fi spot or using another terminal to spam the company.

you can try to go to your IT guy and tell him your problem. I know the email server should keep track of the IP addresses they get emails from. so they might be able to find out for you.

I have done that and have the IP and when I look it up I just get

Let's see, is the email being sent from the AOL account or the employee account? If it's from the AOL account, I imagine a google search of the account name could yield you something useful. Maybe some conversations, a personal homepage, message board posts, or something that could give you a clue as to who the person is.

Seriously though, just block the email and figure it out later. You're wasting productive time searching for this person.

heh okay....trust me on this one - it's not originating from an AOL location - those jokers just own the IP - if it's an AOL IP there is a very high chance it's coming from a house as opposed to some random hotspot
