So I rolled up to Sonic today & got a hotdog & paid with my credit card. The lady skated it out to me, gave me the food & then kind of hung around for a few seconds as if i was suppoed to give a tip or something.

Does anyone tip sonic rollerskating folks? I don't know the rules apparently.

plus if your paying cc for your 4 or 5 dollar meal chances are you dont have a dollar cash to tip anyway

Well...someone said they get minimum wage so its not like they are making $2.30 like most servers are. The ones that go the extra mile and skate around deserve a tip imo. I always watch them because it seems like they always come close to falling.

But I still always tip a couple bucks or so, more if the girl was especially pleasant...and it has the ancillary benefit of speeding up any extra sauce or drink delivery

You tip for service true, but you also tip for a nice environment. I tip even when I go for an overpriced coffee simply because the place is clean and it's a nice place to visit.

If you don't want to tip stay at home and make it yourself.
