i just looked at the other pictures. I think i saw some women and they were red-ochre as well. So i retract my previous explanation...i guess that's just the fad in that part of the jungle these days. Some of there malocas need some fixing up.

Says in the article how these "uncontacted" tribes are being pushed away from there turf and are on the brink of invading other tribe's territories. BATTLEEE!!!!

MY prediction:

Some hard charging anthropologist will insist on making contact with these uncultured, suffering beasts. He will lead an expedition to make contact, which will result in his death and everyone with him as the tribals do exactly what would be expected.

I would assume they have had contact w/ the outside world, it probably just hasn't been recorded. I would highly doubt they have not explored and etc. I would assume that this is a contious effort, on their part, to have nothing to do w/ us (or others) to them.

If they end up getting wiped out then so be it. Invasion and genocide has been a part of human history and human nature since the beginning of our existence. Cro Magnon man probably wiped out Neanderthal, the Romans destroyed the Carthaginians and salted the earth there, etc. etc. etc.

It's only in very modern times that we have solidified borders and preserved nations and peoples. We assign some sort of virtue to them based solely on their existence. Frankly, if your culture is deficient enough that it can be wiped out then it probably deserves to be wiped out.
