Well, guess what?! This particular design is for riding a bike. It is curved to fit better when you are hunched over. They didn't have bicycles 1000 years ago, so I agree, no need for this model of Cam elbak. Times change.

i have a Blackburn model that's at least 12 years old and still going strong. I've been thinking about retiring it for a Camelback or other, newer model because the Blackburn has almost zero storage.
