I took it this past weekend and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone new to riding motorcycles.

This was a 2.5 day VERY intensive training/riding course. We did all sorts of drills, including high speed and low speed and emergency swerving/stopping maneuvers.

It was actually a LOT of fun, and VERY helpful in teaching basic riding skills. There were some people in the class that hadnt touched a bike before, and by the end of the 2nd day were riding and high speed slaloming like champs.

nah man, I learned more in two days riding than I could have by myself. Plus it was nice to learn on someone else's bike just in case I dropped it or something.

I suppose I could have set up some cones or something in a parkinglot to do the drills myself, but it was good to have someone with experience give pointers.

I totally recommend this. Everybody has bad habits that this type of course can help to correct.

I took this course 3 or 4 years back an also recommend it having never ridden before. I never bought a bike though.

It was definitely fun. I rode a little Honda Nighthawk all weekend. We definitely abused these things.

After the class was over, me and two of the instructors went out to the parkinglot for some "hotlaps"

I took it in Archdale, NC...at Randolph Community College.

All the classes around here in raleigh were booked solid through the next few months.

I think it cost about $130 or so.

I took the course at Johnston County last year in April, probably the best $120 I have ever spent. I am pretty sure the course taught me things that saved me last season when another biker pulled out in front of me.

In my class there were people who had never even rode on the back of a bike and older guys who had been riding for decades. The guys that were experienced even had trouble doing some of the drills, just because they had never been in those situations.

An added plus is that it saves you money on your insurance, and if you plan on buying a bike can save you a few hundred dollars if you show them your card. I know a guy who took the Harley Rider's Edge course (a bit more at about $300) and he loved it too.

I took this course also, at CCC&TI for like $125. I'd say it is more important than a good helmet. I had fun playing in the parking lot during the course, and learned a shit-ton also.
