I'm not for sure what happened but I have a big box on my desktop that states "warning spyware detected on your computer. install an antivirus spyware remover to clean your computer." So I ran Panda antivirus and AVG, but I still have that text box. How do I get rid of the text box? Panda found a couple of viruses so I guess its resolved. 6/4/2008 10:32:33 PM |

^^it was most likely a net send message or a popup ad
you need a firewall/better skills relating to discerning between actual windows dialog boxes and fake ones in popup ads b] 6/5/2008 7:06:08 AM |

You have a version of the Smitfraud virus. Download Spybot and Webroot's SpySweeper w/ Antivirus Trial and update them, set SpySweeper to sweep for rootkits in custom sweep options then run both in safe mode. That should clear up most if not all of it. Then run CCleaner in normal mode once those finish. 6/5/2008 5:17:17 PM |
