This is all I think of when I hear the name James Woods: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCzoV287JUY
Goddamn psycho copyright lawyers seem to have taken all the video clips off the internet, but I thought I could at least share the music (and a photo, it seems).
Oh, and 1340, in the spirit of the thread. My math score was 20 points higher than my reading score. And my GRE score was 40 points higher than that.
What's that mean? I have no idea. These metrics are all meaningless now that I'm in grad school. 6/5/2008 2:30:57 AM

I didn't do SAT prep because I wanted to play video games, and play video games I did! A lot.
Probably why my SAT scores weren't as high as my brother's.
Of course most people here are talking about the old scoring system. I have no idea what the bullshit with the new scoring system is. It looks like they just made it so you could get more points without really changing the validity of the score. More bullshit for kids to put up with. But again, I'm just being bitter and cynical about it. K-12 school's gotten weird as fuck since I left it. Apparently the school my sis-in-law student teaches at makes sure each kid has a bottle of water, one of the new fun policies or something (I'm out of the loop and would love more info on that). I've heard about some of the other shit they grade kids on at school these days (how they're developing and interacting and such, with categories for most anything you can think of) and it really just terrifies me that the government thinks it can pay that much attention to a class of 20-40 kids with just one to two teachers. 6/5/2008 3:08:03 AM

I made a 1400. Only took it once because by then I knew I wanted to go to State and, anyway, no SAT score was going to be high enough to get me $texas to pay for it. I wasn't gonna make no damn 1600 no matter how many times I took it, and I had at least enough sense to know that nobody after undergrad really gives a damn anyway. My score was apparently enough to get me into State and Carolina (and yes, I turned them down, and no, I don't regret it even though it would've been a more respectable political science program), and that was good enough for me.
Oh, and it was 690 math, 710 verbal. This makes no sense to me, because I'm mathematically retarded and much better at English. But oh well. I didn't do any prep at all unless you count the TIP program in seventh grade. I think I made an 1110 that time.

AHA, I feel like the only person at State who admits to really wanting to go to Chapel Hill instead.
Also, for all the folks talking about "taking it cold," that's how most people take it. I don't know anybody who actually studied. And if you didn't take a prep class, you just went in and took it. Pretty standard.
And the hungover thing is a little silly too because, again, lots of people are hungover when they take it. I was. I mean, it was high school and that shit was in the morning. 6/5/2008 4:16:20 AM

hah I had forgotten about TIP. I have no idea what I scored that time.
Carolina hounded the shit out of me to apply there but I never did. I limited myself to 5 college applications because I didn't have the cash to apply to more than that. Even if I did, I doubt Carolina would have made the list anyway. 6/5/2008 4:24:56 AM

I really wanted to go to Chapel Hill until I got the two acceptance packets. The UNC people like to talk down to you, whereas State treated me with...what's the term I'm looking for...even the tiniest shred of human dignity?
And nobody should be sorry about the job, I've been planning on getting fired for about two weeks. It used to be cool. A new manager came in and enacted a number of very pointless decrees that made it lame. I decided to ignore those decrees and milk the job for every dime I could before I got called to the chopping block. Thanks, though.
