ok, for cereal, how about taking her out to dinner (Spend time with her?). I'm sure it'd be nice to have a day off (assuming that she cooks...) and a chance to get out of the house.

This is really more of a Mother's/Father's Day gift, but I don't see why you couldn't give it to your mom for her birthday.

Maybe you know of another program that's cheaper or free to do this. Anyway, I scanned in a whole bunch of pictures from my parent's photo albums over the years with my mom and I. The program lets you create a DVD slideshow with pictures and music in the background. My mom pretty much lost it when I gave it to her a few years ago, she was so happy.

I've done this for my mom twice. I think now she wants me to do it for every occasion. Those back massages do wonders for her mood.
