This is one of those things I'd like to have just to fuck around with but probably would never extensively use. They use weedwhacker 2-strokes like this in Cuba all the time, though.

electric kit would make more sense on a bike, unless you are planning to use it for some prolonged trips. they are quiet and you dont end up breathing the 2stroke ehaust all the way to work/school, and then arrive smelling like it. on the negative side, it will lprobably be slightly heavier because of the battery, and the range will be limited. Ask ScubaSteve about his experience, i beleive he has/had one

the problem with mopeds/scooters is you need to be able to keep up with traffic for safety. if it can do that then you need tags/insurance. might as well get a real motorcycle if you are going that far.

well what im thinking now is that i want to be able to ride on the greenways.

i have a leg behind my house, i might as well take advantage of it.

electric is ideal, but costs too much.

gas is cheap, but has its drawbacks as well.

im not looking to replace my cars, just a toy of sorts that pays for itself.

The greenways near my house are pretty full of people and kids walking and biking. You'd be a dick to fly through there w/ a loud and fast motor bike. In fact if i saw you'd i'd probably try to kick you into a tree.

you can find electric kits as cheap as the gas ones ones you point out on ebay or close. you can probably get away with electric on the greenway since they are quiet and not terribly fast

whitewalls are pimp, but lack of transmission makes them slow AND underpowered as a moped, while heavy weight keeps it almost useless as a bicycle. i rode quite a few of the original ones, and unless they improved 200%, i wouldnt take one out in the traffic.
