I've seen them live a few times. My dad is more in to them than I am. We drove to Cleveland last May to see them before a full scale US tour was announced for Blank Planet.

Steven Wilson has a new solo album coming out in November.

From the trailer, I'm not exactly sure what distinguishes a Steven Wilson album from a Porcupine Tree or Blackfield album besides who's playing with him.

you don't like fear of a blank planet or deadwing? in absentia wasn't an amazing album, had good songs, but Fear and Deadwing are pretty stellar albums to me cover to cover. Listened through Insurgents CD 1 and so far there hasn't been a part i haven't liked to some degree yet, which is impressive most other PT and Blackfield had to grow on me a bit. I'll give it another listen tomorrow very loudly when its not 2 am. theres usually a little bit of depth as steven wilson tends to layer tons of stuff at different volumes. I also don't understand how he differentiates all of his music, like PT doesn't sound like his solo stuff or Blackfield, but at the same time they kind of all have the same sound. idk

Porcupine Tree has a show scheduled for October 9th in London that is supposedly to kick of a tour in support of a new album. And a live DVD from the FoaBP tour is supposed to be in the works.
