But I wonder if in order to get Hillary to bring her support behind her, if he secured her a supreme court justice position should he be elected. if that were to be the case, i'd be most discontent with his decision. 6/16/2008 9:36:45 AM |

Not that I think he would do this, but if Obama decreed to kill the first born son of all Republican households to decrease the number of conservatives, I'd be most discontent with his decision 6/16/2008 9:44:09 AM |

^^I find it not to be out of the realm of possibility that he would do such a thing. she wants an active role in the government and that would give her exactly what she wants, especially give that theirs not term limits.
^I'm equally worried about that. 6/16/2008 10:04:55 AM |

I dont think Hillary could ever be confirmed by the Senate...early in her legal career, she involved herself in some sketchy lawyering while in D.C. and was fired....the name of the firm and her boss is escaping me but I heard him on Boortz talking about this. 6/16/2008 10:06:34 AM |

if Obama did that, that would be illegal. 6/16/2008 10:22:21 AM |

alright, but what would Obama really get out of this? She has already endorsed him, and she would obviously rather see Obama win than McCain. So what else is she supposed to do? do you think that if Obama promises her a spot in his administration or court or whatever that she can flip a magic switch and all of a sudden millions of additional people will vote for him?6/16/2008 10:35:37 AM |

She by no means has to support him or speak favorable of him in the interim. She has chosen to do so and it could be for a multitude of reasons. She can't flip a magic switch that guarantees a lot of votes but she can endorse him and continue to campaign for him which will award him many votes. the more votes he has the better the chance. I don't think that she rather see him win than mccain, because i believe shes entirely more focused on herself and what she gets out of this election process.6/16/2008 10:46:34 AM |

Hillary's support will be behind Obama, regardless. I'm concerned about the supreme court as well, but considering it's neo-con leaning, this time around I'm not too worried about 1 person being appointed that is left of center. 6/16/2008 11:38:47 AM |

Hillary is no way qualified for the Supreme Court. All the other justices have experience as judges for appellate courts, and most of them have backgrounds teaching law. Hillary lacks those qualifications. If Obama were to cut her any sort of deal, it would be to make her Senate Majority Leader, an idea that's been tossed around a lot during the primaries. 6/16/2008 5:12:07 PM |

With that said, there's no rule that says lawyers or judges have to be appointed. Presidents have appointed completely random people before.6/16/2008 6:37:54 PM |

especially when John McCain holds up Samuel Fucking Alito as a "model for future Justice nominations"
