I bet you could find out if you clicked the links that say 'See Tiger's sponsors' or 'See Phil's sponsors'

Also, preemptive position on the 'THESE GUYS DON'T DESERVE THIS MUCH MONEY' argument
0.00001% of the population can do what these guys do and they're in an industry that makes billions. It's almost unfair that they don't make more; most owners are scumbags.

You're services are only worth what somebody is willing to pay, if they are making that much money, they are worth it 6/16/2008 11:50:11 PM |

they're probably worth a lot more than they get paid. Owners make a shitton of money, because of the players, so they're actually worth more than they get paid. But yeah, I don't think if a couple teams wanted to bid on me and give me 20+ mil a year i'd say no. 6/16/2008 11:55:06 PM |

i dont know about this, all these guys do is run around and play with balls the owners have to first make tons of money then invest it into a business, manage it, advertise, build, grow, maintain, and cultive this industry
thats takes way more work and talant than it takes to be a pro athlete
if i was an owner and heard athletes complain id fire them all and get new ones as long as they're better than the general public they will be looked up to

Read today in the USOpenBlog @ ESPN that Tiger's caddy, Steve Williams, would fall in the top 200 list of career earnings for golfers. This all assumes the typical caddy takes of 10% for a win and 7.5% for Top 10.6/17/2008 12:57:57 AM |

I'd say statistically Formula One drivers make the most. Even the scrubs earn more than $1 million/year while the top drivers this year make close to $30 million before sponsorships and winnings.
Before Schumacher retired he was bringing in over $40 million from Ferrari alone. I believe he was the top paid athlete in the world at the time. 6/17/2008 1:03:48 AM |
