i'm getting ready to revamp my "studio" starting with a new computer with new a recording program. i currently use cakewalk music creator pro, which i'm happy with, but i wouldn't mind stepping it up a bit. the majority of what i record is live audio (recorded guitars, vox, keys)...not a lot of programmed beats. what are some of your fav's? 6/17/2008 1:24:09 PM |

i mean pro tools is amazing. its the best thing out there by far in my opinion and a lot of studio's opinions (people can overuse it easily though hehe) but thats probably a bit over the top for what youd need probably.
In fact I would guess that Pro Tools HD might be the most used program in big time studios. Im not 100% sure but I think thats what Ive heard, and the few studios I know a lot about use that for sure.

i havent used cubase sx since version 3, but it used to crash a fair amount and was generally buggy for me. cakewalk sonar 7 has been great so far and hasn't crashed on me once. the UI has been much improved since i used it years ago. havent tried cubase sx 4 yet or protools. 6/18/2008 8:01:20 PM |
