I'm looking to purchase one and I've checked out ed mckay used books, ebay and craigslist (usually around $50 with two controllers and maybe a game). Ed mcay doesnt have any in stock though. I was just wondering if anyone has tried going to the flea market or elsewhere and found the console and some games for a good deal. I was an idiot for selling my super nintendo years back. I really miss that thing.

Last time I was at the flea market there was this guy who was a serious video game collector. He had a bunch of old systems on sale, and they were hooked up to TVs. You knew right away that they were in excellent condition. He took excellent care of his stock, and he may have even refurbished a few systems. He also had old RPG cartridges ( Like Chrono Trigger and FF3), and I believe he had even replaced the batteries in them, so you could still save your data (A common problem with old SNES games is that the battery dies and you lose all your data and your ability to save games).

If you're willing to pay a bit extra, I would look for this guy, and try to buy a system from him. He had an NES, SNES, Genesis, Sega Master System, an N64, you name it. He might have even owned the New NES and the New SNES. You would also have the satisfaction of knowing that your system works and has been well taken care of.

Only downfall was that his game selection was a little lackluster, or maybe I just thought that because I already owned all the rare games that he carried.

'preciate it. Ill have to check that out. Im the type that would rather go in and check out the items in person than deal w/ classifieds. I found that most of the classified listings also come w/ games that I don't care about playing so I'd rather just buy the base console and then buy the games I want from somebody like that dude at the flea market.

does it have to be a SNES or you want something that plays SNES games? Theres a store in garner that sells a machine that will play both SNES and NES.
