It's ESPN trying to get people to watch during the summer.

Who gives a fuck if he does want to come back. He's a fucking person, and people change their minds. I would imagine if I was one of the best QBs ever to play the game and I retired I would be bored and after having one of my better seasons think that maybe I could play some more. If not, then fuck it, if so, then the Packers are back to being the best team in their division. 7/3/2008 2:06:18 AM |

^^ the Packers give a fuck. They probably wouldn't have taken Brian Brohm in the draft had they suspected that he'd come back.
I don't buy this at all, sounds like a "Brett Favre buys a back scratcher from Target, he must have the itch to come out of retirement" type of ESPN bs. 7/3/2008 8:11:24 AM |

Reasons fans of other teams hate Favre:

You'd think with all the hype he'd have more than 1 Super Bowl win for his team. I guess he cares more about the individual awards than winning championships. 7/4/2008 12:57:33 PM |

Quote : | "COOK PRIVATELY SAYS FAVRE WANTS TO BE A PANTHER Posted by Mike Florio on July 3, 2008, 3:07 p.m. EDT
Agent Bus Cook has been yapping a lot over the past several months regarding the future of his star client, Brett Favre.
Most recently, we heard that Cook had been telling people that Brett still wants to play. (Two days later, it was widely reported that Brett is telling people that Brett still wants to play.)
We’re now hearing that Cook is privately saying that Favre wants to play for the . . . . drum roll, please . . . oh, wait, it’s in the headline . . . Carolina Panthers.
We don’t know why Favre is eyeing Carolina. Maybe he thinks that it’s the best place for him to step in as the starter, notwithstanding the presence of Jake Delhomme, and have a chance to win. Or maybe Favre wants to play for a time that’s fairly close to his home in Mississippi — and that will play three division road games in that same general area as well.
Beyond the geography and a roster with the talent to compete in a wide-open NFC, Favre has no strong connections to the coaching staff. Favre never has been in the same organization as head coach John Fox.
That said, the quarterbacks coach, Mike McCoy, was on the Packers’ practice squad in 1995.
Whether Favre plays again and whether he plays for anyone other than the Packers remains to be seen. But if he does play for anyone other than the Packers, his next team could be the Panthers.
If the Panthers want him." |
i would take him over Jake. I am sure steve smith didnt mind this rumor....7/4/2008 9:19:24 PM |

Brett just wants a chance to break another team's single season INT record. Ours is 1997, when Kerry Collins threw 21 picks. Brett has tied or surpassed that mark 5 times in his career, and think he he has an easy shot at getting into another team's record books.
Personally, I wouldn't want his ass here but maybe I am just biased. Our team has a different direction to go in that doesnt involve bringing in this douche. I am pretty sure the rumor is all bs anyway. 7/5/2008 9:13:46 AM |

Guess not. Then again, I think he's going to retire after every season i suppose.
Favr(rv)e needs to get a peripheral job to football. Doing commentating or being an analyst or something. It wouldn't be the same, but he probably just needs something to keep him busy. His wife and kids reportedly want him back playing, probably because going from him being on the road all the time to him having nothing to do is a bit jarring for the family.
Football's all he knows, so he might want to do that agian, but I'm sure he could find something satisfying besides being a QB again (and either A: completely ruining Aaron Roger's life or B: pull a Montana and prove that while he's still good, he can't carry a team by himself anymore). 7/5/2008 1:25:46 PM |

it isn't a problem if he wants to play or not play, it is the fact that we have to go through this every year. if you want to come back just say "i want to play" and then let it go from there.

Maybe Miami, but I am pretty sure Favre wants to go to a contender...

Quote : | " The Green Bay Packers are aware of the latest developments regarding Brett Favre.
Brett earned and exercised the right to retire on his terms. We wanted him to return and welcomed him back on more than one occasion.
Brett's press conference and subsequent conversations in the following weeks illustrated his commitment to retirement.
The finality of his decision to retire was accepted by the organization. At that point, the Green Bay Packers made the commitment to move forward with our football team.
As a retired player, Brett has the option to apply for reinstatement with Commissioner Goodell. If that were to occur, he would become an active member of the Green Bay Packers. As always, the Packers will do what's right and in the best interest of the team.
As with all Packers greats, Brett's legacy will always be celebrated by our fans and the organization, regardless of any change in his personal intentions.
Brett and Deanna will always be a part of the Packers family." |
