I want a nice hotel room (prefer a suite) for one or two nights this weekend in charlotte. what places should i look at.

i'm trying to stay downtown to avoid a taxi ride, the omni looks like the best bet so far. ive stayed at the embassy suites for a conference and enjoyed that a lot, but its not downtown.

also- what are the best places to go? we may need to entertain someone who is under 21, any tolerable 18+ places downtown?

i've been to the omni, it was really really nice. kinda pricey i think, but it's close to everything.

The Holiday Inn Downtown Charlotte is right there next to just about everything. It's fairly nice too. If you are looking for fun on the weekends then good luck with someone under 21. But if you are there during the week there are a few places that let 18+ in, just be prepared to hang out with a lot of highschoolers who act like idiots

Both downtown marriots are nice and right in the middle of everything

The hilton is a little out of the way but on the light rail so no biggie.

The omni would be my favorite... all of my fave bars are around there but they're all 21+ that i know of..

Yeah, while the Westin is probably the nicest, the Omni will be your best bet as far as being close to everything. It's really smack dab in the middle of uptown.

And you've probably already thought of this, but if you have someone under 21, you're probably just gonna need to get in somewhere early before they start carding (9pm) and just hang around.

But, I wouldn't get a hotel to go to cans.

Besides, that cab fare would be very cheap. Its cheap to get them from onespot to another in downtown and just beyond it.

Cans is only fun when the roof is open and you can take it over with your friends early otherwise i don't go there.

the Blake Hotel is affordable. We've gotten rooms there a few times on nights we know we aren't gonna be driving.

its right at the corner of stonewall and mcdowell about 2 blocks down from the courthouse. Pretty damn close to the epicentre/buckhead/alleycat/phils

i dont know when it was but probably like 15 years ago

i still recommend the Westin as far as a hotel thats ballin

at most you might have to walk 8-10 blocks to get all the way to the north end of uptown...plenty of bars within 3-4 blocks

I liked the Marriot downtown near the historic looking church. Plus if you wake up with a hangover you can say fuck the expensive ass breakfast and go to the cool ass bojangles around the corner.

Yeah...apparently I'm high. Just google mapped it.

I walked back from the State/ECU game at BOA Stadium to the Westin and remembered it being a hike while drunk.

I thought it was about that far away from Tryon...apparently it's right beside it.
