Quote : | "BEWARE OF thecadeals.com aka The Ca Deals aka Mobileott.....I also wanted to purchase a Wii from them, but when the payment option was ONLY via money gram - HUGE RED FLAG.
Also, after perusing their site, there were lots of things that raised some questionmarks:
1. Read the "canned" feedbacks that THEY obviously posted on THEIR OWN site. RED FLAG. (It's plain to see they were all written by the same person.) RED FLAG
2. Read "About Us" link on their site... "thecadeals.com" aka parent company? "Mobileott, Inc."...try to google it - nothing comes up. Also notice they claim "James and Sandra Gross" are the owners...if so, then why is payment request made to "Nancy Stewart"? Wht not the company? Also read the text content...totally broken english, bad grammar, etc. RED FLAG.
3. They state "ALL of our products are brand new and boxed from official factories located in Japan, South Korea, Malaysia." They also state they "check ALL goods for problems, damage or playability issues before dispatch." (Whaaaaat?) Your going to open the brand new Wii I'm about to purchase and hook it up and test it. (Yeah...okay.) RED FLAG.
4. They show a picture of a group of friendly-looking people, supposedly the staff? Below that is a pic supposedly of their facility, under which they state their address (173 Dalhousie Street, Ottawa, ON K1N 7C7, Canada) BUT they are sure to point out it will not show up on any Satellite Navigation system or maps. ???WHAAAT??? So I google the addy it brings up another company named "Maxsys" - which I called and they told me they have never heard of thecadeals.com OR Mobileott - AND the company that actually IS at the address (Maxsys), is a staffing company which takes up the entire premises - it is NOT a corporate building shared with any other company! RED FLAG - RED FLAG - RED FLAG
5. Upon further delving...I found the domain was registered only in May of 2008. No info can be found on the internet on them at all. And the order confirmation and welcome email comes from a Russian server. RED FLAG
6. And when you try and call the 800 number, you get a message from a man with a heavy accent telling you to leave a message. ??? RED FLAG
All these little things add up to one message: "BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! RED FLAG, RED FLAG!!!" " | ]7/9/2008 2:08:25 PM |
