a complete brake and rotor job on Saturday, and an oil change...anyone want to join in on the festivities.

Just thought you should know. Oh yea, anything else I should do when I have the wheels off??? I've only done brakes on a couple of occasions and didn't do much other putting on new rotors and pads. Anything else I should check for? Older car...91 lincoln t-car.

Thanks guys.

dont forget to disable the airbags with the switch in the trunk if you are going to jack it up using the frame.

I've never heard of that. Is that a Lincoln thing or something I should worry about on other vehicles?

^ I'm guessing from the jolting and when you drop it down might cause them to go off? never heard of it either.

Air bag suspension, not passenger restraints. If you jack up the frame, the rear axle drops, the airbags fill up and then when you drop it back down the back end of your car is three feet in the air.

And, yeah, most cars don't have airbag suspension. those that do generally have a switch in the trunk to disable the compressor.

Oh yeah, I forgot about those airbags. That's why all the cars with busted airbags you see in the ghetto sit so low in the rear.

Everything went amazingly well and finished the job in 2.5 hours.

One last thing. Sometimes the engine won't start. It cranks but won't start. So I was in a bind and bought a can of starter fluid, sprayed some in the intake and it fires right up, I know it's bad to do that. However, how can I fix this problem?

p.s. it does this maybe 4 or 5 times every 6 months and it's rather annoying. Even when I have been driving it around.

Thanks guys.
