Wondering if there is any interest in these, as I have become exceedingly good at modding them without a chip/bios flash/opening the case etc. choosing to stream everything from a smb share rather than swapping out the drive...makes a great media center and rom emulator (atari - ps1) and rips games no sweat.

i figure a refurb console +$35 bucks to just 'mod' it and put media center on it, allowing streaming media (avi, asf, mp3, flac, etc.) from a samba share(i.e. workgroup/bob/c/)

emulators and games take time so they cost more

$35 for a softmod? No offense, but I didn't charge much more than that for a full hardware mod including drive swap.

i know carl, but you gotta start somewhere. i'm starting @ $35 cause it's worth it to those that can't do it and it's a lot harder to brick an xbx if you aren't even opening the case.

my price has nothing to do with carl's rates/methods, this a different person offering a different service at a different time.

clarification: the price for a modded xbox is: 1 sealed refurbished xbox from gamestop etc. + $35 in hand in exchange for an xbox i have already modded, so it's instant gratification.

^^I prefer to receive a sealed xbox so i can assume the next person that gets it won't have a problem (namely me). if you want to drop off your xbox and pick it up I spose I could do that as well, I would just rather not make the process take longer than it has to.

^refubs are ~ $100 right now. i have personally gotten nes, snes, n64, and ps1 working without issues, and could also install sega genesis.

I see that you want to get an unmodded Xbox out of the deal, but would you mod mine for $35? I am unfamiliar with the process, so would I still be able to connect to Xbox Live afterwards or do they only ban modded 360s?

Xbox live is no longer an option, but* xbconnect is a suitable alternative. i want an unmodded one + 35 so i can mod it for me/the next guy.
