and they weren't the "nice" kind either.

that kind of pisses me off that people cant bring their dogs to the dog park because of all the pit bulls.

yea Oakwood is usually more laid back with way more trees which is nice. I go to both all the time.

As with anywhere it depends on when you go. There was only one pit attacking dogs when I went there, and my dog was well trained enough to leave it alone when I said so.

On that note, they really ought to ban unaltered dogs, they are ALWAYS the ones causing problems.

The problem is with the trainer, not the dog.

intact (unaltered = uncastrated =still can breed....) dogs over 6 months of age should not be permitted in dog parks. It's a combination of that and people not properly socializing their animals that causes problems in the dog parks.

when i lived at millbrook and creedmoor, i used to go there a couple of times a week...while there were a lot of nice people there, there were far too many douchebags for my liking

as noted, the pits can be kind of obnoxious, and on several occasions, there were several that were out and out fighting

also, there are these two horrifically fat women who brought their aussies in all the time...while most aussies are pretty good dogs (a bit skittish in large groups because they like to herd), these were obnoxious and, at times, MEAN...they were asked to leave on several occasions

+1 for carolina pines...it's within walking distance of my house, and it's always much calmer and the people seem to be nicer

we used to go to millbrook then oakwood and now carolina pines since it opened. Although with 3 dogs of my own and foster puppies - my backyard IS a dog park.

i'm not a fan of chatting up random people in public, especially people who are dog fanatics (or fanatics of anything really) so that was one thing i didnt like.... of course i suppose that could happen anywhere and i just shouldn't be allowed in public
and it would have been nicer if there had been more trees, like oakwood or carolina pines
anyway, i just want to play with my dogs... watch them play with other dogs... maybe a read a book if it's not too crazy

yea, i go allmost every day, never see more than one or two pitts at the millbrook one. And usually if they are unruly the other owners run them out.

Never been to any of the others.

It's usually a pretty good crowd though.
