The roof on my parent's mobile home at Lake Gaston is going downhill fast. We have been putting cool seal on it for the past couple of decades, but now the layers of cool seal are flaking up at the edges. It's going to need to be scraped and redone at the least.
I was thinking of just putting up a tin roof on top of the existing roof. That would allow me to leave a little overhang (6"-8") over where the current roof stops. Anyone done anything like this or have any other suggestions? Anyone put up tin roofing before and have any advice? 7/21/2008 12:32:13 PM |

there really shouldn't be a problem but i would screw 1x4's lengthwise about 12" on center all the way up to secure the new roof to, to provide air circulation and prevent moisture from being trapped between the layers, hell i've even laid plywood and shingles on one before 7/21/2008 1:53:01 PM |
