Should it work? Cause so far it's not, and so I'm trying to pinpoint the problem. 8/4/2008 5:42:28 PM |

Although I have no idea what company you are using, what receiver model it is, what dish type or lnbf is used, or which orbital location you are pointing at, I'll still vote no.
Also, I assuming the receiver is activated and clean? 8/4/2008 6:01:15 PM |

It should work. Something is not connected properly if it's not working. 8/4/2008 6:41:49 PM |

It's like a trick question because there's no mention of equipment or even your location. There is no answer lol.

It could be connected correctly but incompatible w/ the receiver. The receiver could be 10 years old, or designed for a specific dish only.

^ True, but I think that's the outside case.
For DirecTV at least, their HD dishes receive tap the same sats they've been tapping PLUS more. So theoretically, if your rec. worked with with the regular dish, there's no reason it wouldn't work with an HD dish unless the disk is aimed incorrectly, or there is something wrong with the cabling.
Obviously, there are some troubleshooting steps you can do to narrow down the problem, but without more info, you can't tell.
I know a common problem people have is using regular splitters instead of multiswitches to split a signal. 8/4/2008 7:08:50 PM |
