This course is being offered this fall. Very interesting mathematics. I had this course a few years ago, very cool stuff. Don't be too frightened by the course number.

In the Fall 2008 I offer a course in Symmetries, Invariants and their
Applications.
The course covers practical methods for computing symmetries of
differential and algebraic equations. Symmetries are used for obtaining
an important information about the structure of the solutions of an
equation, and in many important examples for finding explicit solutions.
The methods rely on differential and algebraic invariant theory, whose

as if anyone outside the math-grad list serve, where this was sent, would care.
[well, maybe some guys in the physics department would, but the probability that either those kids, or anyone else outside of the aforementioned groups interested in the class are on tww=epsilon.]
