I have always though the objectives section of the resume was retarded but I am told I need one. I mean obviously if you have my resume I am applying for a job with you in the field you are working in. I was just curious how important the objective section is to a resume and how detrimental it is to not have one.

i always thought it was retarded too

i always heard it was needed too

i guess if you're equally qualified with another applicant, what you say in the objective can be the deciding factor, maybe?

still, it'd be the first thing i lose to keep it from running over to two pages
