hah, hardly...when i moved into my house, i set up my HTPC in a mATX case with different components...the HTPC acts as my personal computer, as well, since i have a laptop that i now use for work

as much as i like having 4 active computers (i have a server running, as well), i simply don't need my old desktop

sketchy-ass craigslist offer of $325 without monitor

it does not have an optical drive in there, but i can put one in for a bit more (i'll have to see what i have lying around...i really don't burn anything, so i was using my xbox 360 hd-dvd addon as the optical drive whenever necessary)

also, i've never overclocked the proc, though 3ghz is easy on stock (supposedly) and i hear upwards of 3.5ghz with a nice hs/fan...wish i had tried it at some point

Yeah...my dad won't be aiming to overclock at all .

It might be nice to have a DVD drive in there for the software I've got on DVDs, otherwise, I've got a CD drive I could put in.

i'll be honest - i'm not so desperate as to give it away quite yet

and besides, i have craigslist offers of $325 and $300 (if that falls through)...why would i willingly take $125 less?

if the $325 AND the $300 falls through, i'd rather give it to my little brother

^ no, you're right...BUT i think that twwers are more reliable than craigslisters...i've had numerous "i'll pick it up tonight" responses, one guy actually show up, but then play hard ball (which i do when i buy from craigslist, too, so i don't blame him for trying)...i have some guy who won't be back in town until next monday but begged me to hold it for him, blah blah blah

if i don't have cash monies for it by this weekend, it's getting parted and given to my little bro (who doesn't need it, but i'd rather pass along better components than sell it less than it's worth)
