I worked for Infiniti for 2 years. They will sell the shit out of that. I wouldn't drive one, but that will def. outsell the Z convertible.

Not feeling it.

I'd rather have the coupe. And I would probably take the Lexus IS before that.

All 4-seat convertibles look odd due to the proportions involved.

Would you take an IS convertible as well? Coz that's coming out soon too!

The IS convertible looks just like the Solara convertible

None of these modern tall cars look good in convertible form.

^^I believe the reason the IS looks like the Solara is because Lexus is the luxury vehicle division of Toyota. Just sayin...

^ how about this one:

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/21/stillborn-1989-bmw-m5-convertible/ (click to see pic)

or what about lambos, ferraris, porsches, bugatti, etc?

p.s. what's the "logic" behind that statement anyway? if one wants to enjoy the environment while driving, it is gay? car X might be great in your eyes, but chop the roof off and it becomes gay, even though it has the same mechanicals, performance, interior, etc? i am not a fan of convertibles either, but that statement is just ridiculous (more ludicrous, actually). so, any "logic"?

'Sporty' convertibles always look like blobs to me.

I can do small roadsters (z3, lotus, etc)

I can do super car types (ferrari, etc)

But everything else sucks

i was never a fan, but I am sold on the concept.

a sports car is such a compromise in about every category may as well go all out.

you can pussy foot around but im not buying a fast 4 door sedan......until im 30.

The only thing I really have against convertibles is that they're usually 300-500 pounds heavier than the hardtop version in order to keep the car from bending in half.

Yeah well those usually are not "roadsters" to begin with. Why you would get a 4 seat convertible is something I don't understand. If you don't have to daily drive it a convertible is a lot of fun. I still don't know how some people drive them daily. Too many compromises to look cool on the belt line going 60mph. Plus they are unaerodynamic as hell and get shit gas mileage.

i think convertibles are different from roadsters

convertibles: solara, sebring, mustang, etc.

roadsters: shelby cobra, z3, z4, miata, yadda yadda

hence why i say convertibles are gay, they weren't originally designed as such....but rather are adaptations to fill a small market of weird people

ok, i guess that makes sense. or as someone else said

so basically if you take a car with 2 rows of seats and chop the roof off, it is gay, but if you take a sports car with just 2 seats and chop the roof off, it still looks good.

there are very few exceptions i guess.

any 4-seat convertibles on the market that actually look good and not awkwardly proportioned?

Most people think small convertibles are gay, sedans/wagons are for old people, and coupes are sporty/hip, along with large 2 seat convertibles (Benz/Bentley, etc.). It used to be trucks/suvs that were cool but I guess that's coming to an end. I could care less, buy what makes you happy. That said, image is the reason I haven't owned a vette yet. Shame shame.

only reason i haven't owned a 'vette is the godawful interior (of the C5...the C6 is tolerable), and the overall control feel and super-sized sports car aspect. i don't give a shit about the image (maybe because i'm enough of a redneck to not really be out of place in it to begin with, haha!)

i thought hard about a C5 when i ended up buying that SC'd S2000...now i'm in the same position...i can't decide which one to get. the C5 is a great sports car, but the S2000 has probably the best "feel" of anything i've ever driven (although the Evo handles better, in my opinion, and arguably has better steering).

I'm thinking about getting a stock S2000 to drive/track for a year or two, then get a C6 or 911 or something when I'm done deploying so much.

I can hook you up duke.

Roll bar and hardtop included .

Its an 05, with barely any miles, so I know you're not interested .

If you get one I would pay more for one with a elda/gfl/harddog bar installed. It's not hard but it A)lowers the value and B) is a complete PITA. If you need it anyways win/win.

yeah, that would be sweet, but the appeal of an S2000 is that I can get a nice, early AP2 for $12-16k. i know yours would be more than that.

i didn't know you'd put a bar in yours.

Maybe I'll snap some photos of it later today. I don't really own a digital camera I know how to operate ( as in find the batteries, cables, etc).

i figure that i can track it at CMP and Roebling Road without a bar...I'll just have to hold off on VIR until I get something else...like a C6.

i picked up the bar second hand (guy got a full cage) for 350$ so it was pretty much a no brainer. The car is paid for and after looking at the c5 z06 i decided just to keep it. I'm hoping to pickup a used c6 when my s2k warranty expires....2012 rofl.

CMP was an option though like you said. Do you really want to risk it? I'm sure you wont roll it but there's always that chance.

I don't know how tall you are but I'm 6 foot even and I might have to replace my seats to sit low enough. My heads barely under without a helmet. Any recommendations for a place to buy 2nd hand seat(s)

True I think there are seat rails that lower it a bit..... Need to look into it more. I don't have an attachment to the stock seats. They are leather and leather seats are annoying.

THEY WOULD LOOK HELLA FLUSH IN MY CIVIC THOUGH!
