Here's my situation: My current iPod is a 4th gen (i think - the first ones with the click wheel) and I've had it for 2.5 yrs and the battery life is down to less than 1 hr. It's driving me insane. I've gotten used to the constant resetting. I really would like a nano, but they don't make one big enough for me to put my music on. So, until Apple wises up and puts out a bigger nano, I'm looking for a newer model of at least the 20 GB model I have (I realize most are much bigger nowadays) with good battery life and little/no freezing like mine does.
