Any free software that will convert wma, mp3, mpeg3, mpeg4, m4P, nearly any format to one format (whatever's best for itunes/winamp), and it will do this by folders, not by me selecting every file?

I searched, but didn't see anything like this.

also, why does the number of files counted in a folder not match the actual number of files in the folder? (I have the show all files option on)

^the problem with that, is that I don't believe I-tunes is recognizing all of my music.
Winamp is even worse

^^thanks. I'll try that once I get everything copied over to where I need it

I was just being a dick

I don't understand why iTunes won't automatically convert to AAC. I used to just drag and drop and it worked fine.

my suggestion was BETTER than free

it's open source

Quote :
"Supported Fomats

* MP3, Vorbis, AAC, AAC+, AAC+v2, MusePack, Speex, AMR, WMA, RealAudio, mp3PRO*
* FLAC, WavPack, Monkey's Audio, OptimFrog, AAC Lossless, TTA, WAV/PCM, Waveform
* H.264, XviD, DivX, MPEG 1/2/4, Theora, Flash Video, Dirac, 3ivx*, RealVideo*, Windows Media Video
* AVI, MPEG/VOB, Matroska, MP4, PMP, RealMedia*, ASF, Quicktime*, OGM*
* CD, DVD, VCD, SVCD, CUESheet*, HTTP*, FTP*, RTSP*, UDP*
"

i'd say that's just about every format out there.

I've been using iTunes for a while, and I've never completely been happy with it. Now I'm just fed up. The library file keeps fucking up and then I have to reload my library which takes hours.

I've tried using different players, but none seem to recognize as many songs as Itunes - on the order of thousands of songs.

Is there another player that will play all of my music?

I've tried WMP, WinAmp, among a few others.

also, the file converter that ^^ suggested is buggy, I believe.

all the songs it's converted so far are much quieter than their original, except for the first second or two, which is really loud, and then it's like someone takes the volume and turns it way down
