I feel like over time of using my laptop and surfing the web, that my computer just gets slower and slower.

I delete cookies, I restart often, I shut down often, and I have AVS for my safety

2.) ad-aware free (http://lavasoft.com/single/trialpay.php)
3.) ccleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/download)
4.) auslogics disk defrag (http://www.auslogics.com/disk-defrag)

^ on XP, not much...on vista? it actually WORKS

vista's defrag sucks donkey balls so bad it's not even funny...the only reason i can figure that they don't put a time on it is because it will NEVER finish...auslogics finishes faster than XP's on the same machine, and works just as well

^^^ I decided to try it out because it's free. i like it. it's pretty fast and it tells you what the hell it's doing, unlike most defrag software.

start -> run -> msconfig

turn off all that stupid background shit that loads when your computer starts up.

no need to have 47 icons next to the clock on the taskbar
