Ok... I've got some ancient 1gb Jaz disks. I'm seriously wondering what is on them, but don't have the original external drive anymore. I do have an internal SCSI drive, but that pc has since been discarded. I'm wondering if anyone here has a USB 1gb JAZ drive they can loan/give me, or a pci SCSI card I can borrow/buy for little or nothing... I like the USB idea better as I'm hoping vista will recognize it with drivers/etc.. the internal pci card I could probably get to working though. Any help appreciated... 9/21/2008 7:19:20 PM |

if it's 64bit vista, I highly doubt there are functioning drivers for the device, but good luck 9/21/2008 8:56:31 PM |

Hehe, Jaz drives. I have one somewhere at my parents house. Lost in the office of storage. I remember when I renamed the drives and disk to "Baz drive". And I highly doubt they'd work with XP, let alone Vista. 9/22/2008 2:56:17 AM |

scsi drives of any type should work fine in any OS as long as the controller is supported 9/22/2008 6:13:18 AM |

I've got one somewhere at my folk's house in Cary, but I'm in Atlanta so I can't help you there. Sorry.
I had no trouble hooking up my Zip and Jaz drives up in XP. I don't know about Vista though.
I still use my Zip disks all the time, mainly to backup financial data. I've found them to be more reliable than my USB flash drive (which I've had several die, and my original financial Zip disk is about 11 years old and working strong)] 9/22/2008 9:34:48 AM |

FYI, pretty much any USB device that worked in XP will work in Vista.
It's the parallel and serial devices that largely do not work in Vista anymore 9/22/2008 5:34:43 PM |

found a pci scsi card... But now the drive doesn't read the disks worth a damn.
anyone have a old jaz drive i can borrow/have/buy, usb or scsi at this point... knowing it works would def. be beneficial.
grazie in advance... 9/26/2008 12:04:09 PM |
