2000 Toyota Tundra
-87,000 Miles
-White
-Access cab
-4.7L V8
-4WD
-16" rims w/ 265/75r16 BF Goodrich All Terrains (12k miles on the tires, they look almost new)
-Fog lamps
-Sliding rear window
-60/40 bench seat in the front w/ arm rest
-Cloth seats
-AM/FM/cassette/single CD
-Running boards
-Bug deflector has been removed, but I still have it
-Trailer hitch
-Kobalt low profile tool box
-Never been in a wreck
-All the offroad it's seen is a dirt path

Price is $9,500 firm.
Yes, I know this is more than KBB or Edmunds, but I don't have to sell it.
It's not like I'm dumping it cause of gas prices, I'm getting rid of it to buy a 4Runner with the same V8.
If you have guns to trade then I might consider up to $500 worth of guns.
If you have a 15-17' center console tri bottom skiff then I may consider a partial trade, but not for more than a few thousands worth.

exactly, why would anyone wants to pay more just because you're not in the hurry to sell it?

I seeing ~$8000 KBB value, so I think I'll $16000, cause it looks like a nice truck and I really want you to get that 4runner TODAY

BTW, I have big league chew trading cards of John Rocker, Mark Wohlers, and others if that might take some off the price

I live in toronto right now, But i'll have my agent in India send you a cashiers check for $13545.00. Included will be an address so you can arrange shipping of the vehicle with the vendor of your choice. Please wire the difference back. The account and bank information will be included in the letter sent to you.

Thank you, and AlahGod-speed

Sincerely yours forever,

Book value pricing isn't always relevant. I've seen plenty of high demand vehicles that consistently sold for far more than blue book. If blue book is $8k, but the cheapest one in a 100 mile radius on autotrader.com, cars.com, and Craigslist is $9k; what does that tell you about the blue book value?

Furthermore, how do you account for the fact that book value pricing can be vastly different depending on whether you're looking at Kelly Blue Book, NADA, Edmunds, or some other?

And finally, sometimes it's worth dropping more money to get an extremely nice and well cared for vehicle if the majority of the ones at book value are beat all to hell. You're short changing yourself in the long run if you don't.

Sometimes common sense > Book Value.

SOLD

I'm gonna miss my truck

I'm gonna love my 4Runner though

But I will have to pay more money

BTW, if you wanna sell a truck, put a sign on it and drive it to Lowes Home Improvement.
There are plenty of people who will be interested and who will pay more than book value for an especially well cared for truck.
