Are the people in charge of the government using the people of this country to increase their own power?

Is the current economic crisis a direct result of the aggressive policies that have been enacted over the past several years? Was this a concerted effort by foreign states to destabilize our economy as a response to something we have done?

If there truly was an event that was able to destroy the very fabric of society, whose side would law enforcement be on? The side of the citizens? Or the side of the government?

Is the general public truly capable of keeping hold of our basic human rights if something were to occur?

How far away are we from an event like this actually happening?

What would the role of the government become if the entire world fell into economic collapse?

What institutions would be prepared to step into the power vacuum if such an event were to occur?

Who would these institutions be looking out for?

Would it be the end of humanity?

If only there was a way we could all agree to remove them from power. Like, we establish a consensus to remove them and put someone else in... a vote if you will.

it doesn't when voters fill every position with candidates from one of just 2 parties.

So you're suggesting the system is broken?

If the system is broken, shouldn't we be demanding a new system? Is it by design or by chance?

either way, it's by choice of the American people.

I would claim design, as evidenced by lots of junk the Bush administration produced.

But it was a design accepted by the American people.

the chances that the "American People" actually comprehend and understand what has happened in the past decade is very slim. They will just listen to the spin from both sides and pick the spin that sounds the best. Most people don't know enough to be outraged.

I hope that counts for something.

It doesn't. The only way it would count for anything is if you organized with other people who are outraged to take some sort of action.

Anyone who questions baling out the banks is antisemitic.

i have said this several times and will reiterate the point here....

When you go to vote, you have the name of the candidate and their party affiliation. At the top of the ballot in most states is the "straight ticket".

The government is pandering these two parties! They are promoting candidates from only these parties and the general public, who is largely disinterested, just votes by the D or the R.

Yes, the government has us. But in more broad terms, the two major political parties have the government....they are the ones calling the shots.

Part of the reason the banks are being bailed out is because they're cashing in on one of the few investments they have left that holds value . . . campaign contributions.

"They want your fucking retirement money. They want it back, so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street. And you know something? They'll get it. They'll get it all, sooner or later, because they own this fucking place. It's a big club, and you ain't in it. You and I are not in the big club."

HOLY SHIT

Exactly... except for the strong Libertarian presence in NC, even voting day basically just amounts to "Would you like some economic Big Government or some social Big Government? ...What's that, you want small government? Don't think we have that in this country, but you could try our Supersize Government Two-for-One Value Meal..."
