I know there are a million job topics but I searched and didnt really find anything that helped me.

I am graduating in December with a double major in Economics and Statistics and I want to get a job in the triangle area. The kind of job I am looking for doesn't exactly have to relate directly to econ or stat but other than those two fields I am looking for something in the business or technology field. I am really interested in RTI and Credit Suisse but I would like to have as many options available as possible. So basically, any ideas on places in the triangle area that would be looking for someone with my educational background? Also, any other job related advice would be appreciated...I have my resume on all the major job sites and I am continually checking epack for new listings.

I have an econ degree and it is pretty useless unless you work for a research company or the government.

I recommend supplemental education

I figure the combination of econ and statistics will help at least separate me from people with just an econ degree and show that I have a good amount of analytical skills. Grad school isn't out of the question but the problem is I do not think I will get in state tuition and there is no way I can afford grad school with out of state tuition. My real plan is get a job and do grad school part time if it is something that would go well with my job.

since i am currently looking for a finance job after graduating in may, i would suggest looking for analyst jobs. The stats major really helps b/c there are quantitative analyst positions everywhere. Just search for analyst on craigslist, careerbuilder, monster, dice.com, ect.

Econ/Poli Sci '06. Started at BofA as an IT auditor. Now work for the Basel capital calculations group. Econ and Stats are probably the two best undergrad majors to land a finance job..In my opinion

good fucking luck getting a job specifically based on your education in today's market. i would guess that <10% do - you better know some folks...

unless you're a doctor, lawyer, etc

i started in pre med (fucking retarded unless you are super intelligent)

moved to bio sciences

moved to econ due to course transfers

but i got a fucking four year degree

Yes, however, the requirement of staying in the triangle wasn't there until relatively recently so that is what limits my choices
