wow this is so annoying - first they hid the file types tab from folder options into the "Default Programs" section in the control panel, and now that i found that, i see that they've dumbed it down so that you can't even change HTML editors, only the main program that the file type will open with.
how do i do this?
i want to leave firefox as the default program to open html files but want to be able to edit HTML in notepad++ 10/7/2008 12:20:39 PM |

Hold down Shift, Right-click, Open with..., Choose the program and check the box to Use as Default (or something like that).
...and yes, the dumbing down pissed me off too.

well that would just change the default program it opens with
that's already fine as firefox
but my HTML editor is set as MS Word - so if it right click and go to edit, or if I want to edit straight from FlashFXP, it always opens Word. I'd like it to open Notepad++ if i choose an edit command and firefox if i double click to open it 10/7/2008 1:15:57 PM |

ok, so changing the editor in internet explorer's options lets me make it notepad but notepad++ doesn't even get listed in that dropdown menu 10/7/2008 1:22:27 PM |
