Ok, I just discovered a weird scene here in Cary that I have never seen before. A window is open, there is a slight breeze flowing into the house, and the window sill is covered in tiny red bugs. They are smaller than flees and take turns flying in a big circle in front of the window before landing back down on the white window sill. They do not move very fast when they are moving and do not respond to me, so I had no trouble killing many of them.

What the hell are they and do they eat people?

You should probably get a lighter and some WD-40 just in case.

It's chiggers damnit. And yes, they will eat you.

EDIT: Actually chiggers don't fly, nor do any mites? Probably a mass of chiggers being eaten/attacked by some thrips or something similar, which won't eat you, but will bite you.

I agree. But they were so small and the only working camera I have is on my cell phone, you would not have seen anything.

The bodies were puny and the legs were so small that I could not see them at all.

There were no visible wings. I think the flying portion was mostly drift based.

You mean, like what I said before? Before you called me out for being wrong?

Clover mites, I'm telling you. It's the right time of year, and there was a good amount of moisture in the air and the temperature was right. Yeah they don't fly, but if there was a breeze then it could have appeared they were.

I would be spraying as much poison as possible in the vicinity.

hey i admitted rather quickly that i was incorrect

i personally never observed them in the fall, however i did some quick research after stating that i was not sure and found that they, too, come out in the fall

so im good man, the man said they were taking turns flying in a circle, implying that that an individual could be observed taking off, "flying in a circle" and landing back on the glass

anyone who reads that and thinks its a mite is a fuckin retard
