Its now as fast as the 335i. 0-60 in 5.0 seconds is good for being fresh out the box. cars usually get a little faster when they are broken in.
Better on gas too 10/10/2008 10:00:57 AM |

^I know man, its bullshit. I can't figure out why car companies keep making cars bigger. If the Civic is too small step up to an Accord, don't complain so they make the Civic bigger. It boggles the mind. 10/10/2008 11:00:27 AM |

except 0-60 times are very dependent on tires and driveline configuration... it's not that accurate a measure of how fast a car is--although every metric has its weaknesses. I mean come on, the old bugeye WRX's were listed as a 5.4 0-60 or so, but that was with a hard launch on their glass transmissions. 10/10/2008 11:33:44 AM |

E36 M3 did it 5.4 sec with measly 240hp. 13 years ago. 10/11/2008 9:27:10 PM |

Yeah they report the same time for s2000's.
I would love to actually see someone pull it off in their personal car. Maybe on a trial car you never have to own clutch dropping from 8000rpm. Not me though. I'm granny shifting, not double clutchin like I should be. 10/13/2008 8:21:15 AM |

Actually it was more like 5.5 for the 95' M3, but whats one-tenth? It also weighed a measly 3219 lbs. The g37 can weigh up to 3668 lbs in the 6MT version (the only one worth a damn).
They cost in the mid 30's in 1995 dollars. Thats like mid-upper 40's in 2007 dollars. Granted it was a BMW M3.10/13/2008 10:33:08 AM |

TKE I believe that the Charger R/T has a 5.7L engine at @340HP. I believe your 0-60 time is correct for the R/T, just not the displacement. Only the SRT-8 has a 6.1L and its HP is closer to 425. IIRC it's 0-60 is 5.4 seconds. Not too bad for a 4000+lb car

Actually Quinn I believe R&T recorded a 0-60 time of 4.9 for the S2000 at some point, but yes I've seen countless tests showing 5.5 or so. Also, you don't seem to be giving Honda enough credit for the robustness of their car. I've done more 7000rpm clutch drops on my GS-R than I can remember. And I doubt they got the best times dropping the clutch at 8k (I realize you may be exaggerating a little.10/13/2008 6:23:00 PM |

Your GSR isn't an s2000.
I think you can agree with me that honda has a little more expeirence with FWD economy cars then RWD roadsters. Blown diff club wasnt founded for no reason! 10/14/2008 12:58:18 PM |
