just an fyi for any tacoma owners. in case you didnt know theres been a problem with tacomas made from 95-00 and the frames are rusting out much faster then they should. toyota is buying the trucks with rusted frames back from you for 1.5 times the bluebook value. i am waiting on my check from toyota right now and i wanted to spread the word to others to take advantage of this offer. 10/15/2008 1:18:28 PM |

Do you have to be the original owner or is this applicable to anyone with a 99-00 tacoma? Where did you hear this from?

i heard about it from someone and checked it out. what they are doing is extending the warranty on the frames. no you do not have to be the original owner. all you have to do is take it to a toyota dealership and they will inspect it free. however from what i experienced if you fail you can not have your truck back so take all your shit out of it. they will give you a loaner vehicle until they give you the money. ive been driving an 08 tundra for the past 3 weeks waiting for everything to happen 10/15/2008 1:26:48 PM |

it doesnt get anymore official than this. ive signed an agreement with toyota where there giving me $13,700 for my truck that I payed less than $10,000 for three years ago. there is supposedly letters going out to all tacoma owners but that could take years to actually happen

I was pretty certain they stopped this already. Also it has to be like holes in the frame for them to buy it back fyi. 10/15/2008 1:47:07 PM |

i think they just started doing this back in about march or so and they wont stop doing it until like 2015 when the extended warranties on the truck frames run out but yes you have to have some pretty serious rust damage. i had a huge hole in mine 10/15/2008 1:49:17 PM |

^ Yeah. but you can probably still go to most buy here/pay here places and just look to see if it's bad or not. And if it is, then *profit*. Just saying. I don't have that much time/liquid cash to go around doing that though 10/15/2008 1:51:09 PM |
