i have this thing about wasting other peoples money, call it jewish karma

i'm doing a favor for a friend and putting all her 10 million addresses into a database so she can easily do christmas cards and crap like that.

neither of us have ever bought address labels before. sounds like one of those things that might just be 2 bucks, but could surprise me and be 40.

just wondering what they typically run and if its better to go to office depot or what.

I always just bought the blank stickey sheets and printed them myself - you can buy them on ebay in bulk.

thanks, eahanhan

ok so 12 bucks or so, a staples / office depot is the best bet eh

something like this-- how many labels are in there?

http://www.staples.com/office/supplies/p4_Avery-White-Inkjet-Mailing-Labels_109246_Business_Supplies_0_10051_SC1:CG24:CL140954

they dont have to be fancy. i just wanna make sure there will be enough. probably a few hundred addresses at a time

cddweller, unless its a huge price difference i dont think anyone wants to cut em up. but thx

if you look at the zoomed in version of the image (on staples website), it looks like that has 500 labels in it.

and yeah, either online in bulk (ebay probably is a good place to look) or just at office depot, the like, are the best places to look for them.

The stickey ones are already pre-cut though. I prefer them.

ahhh i couldnt find a zoomer.

i'll do a test run on normal paper and make sure it would look right... but if that part works, 500 sounds about perfect. enough for maybe 2 batches and some spares

thanks again for the info. dont know why i was worried about it, i guess i thought i might go to if it's paper and get ripped off

aha, if it's paper is trouble. well, i mean, i haven't looked there in a long time, but it's all "ooooooooh, fancy paper...!!!"

but you never know what stuff like this costs, or at least i don't.

yeah, it's just that i pass a couple places like that on most days... so i tend to go in the little stores to get in and out quicker, if i'm getting something that's not way overpriced. kinda how i get my printer stuff at carolina office machines, a little hole in the wall place thats right on my drive home. but i can call them about parts or cartridges before i leave and they'll have it bagged and ready by the time i swing by.

so if its about the same price as using a big chain, i'm all over it. especially if they have a small staff. i guess i like the attention
