The standby/power light comes on but just flashes and I can hear a very faint "chirping" from within. I have no idea what is wrong with it. Everything else is in good working condition.

Included: Speakers, subwoofer, remote.

Alternatively, if you think you can fix this for me, I can pay you to do so.

i bet it got surged and needs to be reset, either that or its toast. i cant offer any help to fix it though and i dont want that piece. id call philips tech support.
