I received the iTower speakers from Sharper Image a few years ago as a xmas present and recently the power supply adapter seems to have worn out. When I shake it there is a rattle in the box and the towers no longer power up (they use to go in and out).

I'm thinking I will just buy all new speakers but I wanted to see if anyone could provide a reasonably priced solution before I do. Here are the specs for the adapter:

Input: 110-240VAC 50/60 Hz
Output: +-24VAC 2A
Model: CP2420

Sharper Image went bankrupt, Radio Shack doesn't carry it, and I can't seem to find anything that would connect to a wall outlet and also to a 4-pin for the speakers. If anyone has ideas that are not obvious to a novice like myself please let me know, I would appreciate it.

or just find another 24v 2a transformer, cut the end off, and solder whatever the connector that goes to the speaker is to the leads

provide the old power supply and I'll see if I have a spare 24V 2A trafo, splice & solder for, say, 40$ parts and labor
