I have a version of Pro E Wildfire 2.0 student edition and am loading it back on my computer and I get this error when it first turns on. Have no idea about this and was hoping someone could point me in the direction for a simple fix to this problem.
License request failed for feature PROE_StudentEdition: -90 Future license file format or misspelling in license file The file was issued for a later version of FLEXlm than this program understands.
Feature: PROE_StudentEdition License path: C:\Program Files\ProEngineer Student Edition\text\licensing\ptc license.rtf; Flexlm error: -90,313 10/24/2008 10:17:02 AM |

sounds like whomever sent you the flexlm license file for this app sent you the wrong thing. did the license file come from the company? 10/24/2008 11:22:51 AM |

yeah PTC sent me the license file the other night and i set it as the directions said. The thing that may be an issue but i don't know how to fix is that the program may be from before the latest version of flexlm and it is having some issues 10/24/2008 11:50:49 AM |

You'll need to contact tech support for the vendor. They're the only ones who can help you out because you're going to have to mess with the license file and or the license settings.
However, just as a sanity check, go through the process they gave you again very carefully to make sure you didn't misspell anything or put something in an incorrect directory. 10/24/2008 12:13:56 PM |

Is it bootleged?
If so, dont call the support people, head on over to the keygen that you used to make that old license.
If you need another license file, there are many places that you can have generators to get ya one.
BTW: Version 4 is out...

based on the fact that PTC sent him the license, and it's a student edition, no I don't think its bootlegged
Definitely just call the vendor, they will help you sort it out. FlexLM is very fickle
And regardless, your post has no business on this website. 10/24/2008 2:19:34 PM |

Shouldn't be an RTF. FlexLM requires that the file be plain text. Doesn't matter what the file extension is, so just open it up in notepad and resave it just to make sure it doesn't have any additional crap in the file.
Also some flexlm license files require the machine name to be in the file. Open it up and see if it has a placeholder in the first line for the computer name.
