Be sure you don't accidentally sign up for Shopping Essentials. I always check to make sure no boxes are clicked that sign me up for crap, but somehow when I ordered from there I was signed up for it. A lot of others have had the same issue.

Let's say I buy $30 worth of food so my total bill is $35.40 which includes my 18% tip

Then I use $25 gift certificate (which cost me $2.00 using the pumpkin code).

Will the total amount I pay for this meal be $12.40 ($10.40 for my meal and $2.00 for the gift certificate)?

Does the 'included 18% gratuity' count towards my minimum purchase price ($35)?

No the cost of the gift certificate is not factored into the cost of the meal at the restaurant but yes the total cost is "$12.40" because you already paid $2 for it.

Also, I don't think gratuity counts towards the minimum purchase. All of this is largely dependent on the restaurant. Read the stipulations closely.

If you don't want to decide on your restaurants right now, buy a bunch of $25 gift certificates for the website. They don't expire for a year, and then once you actually use them to buy a gift certificate for a restaurant, that doesn't expire for a year.

I bought $400 worth of certificates for $32 last time they had this sale.

sounds like you need to go to wal mart and buy some hamburger helper

^^ That is a pretty good idea. I've had a certificate get declined because the restaurant decided it didn't want to take them anymore, and even though their policies say they'll exchange them if that happens, they wouldn't.

interesting because I once had certificates to a restaurant that went out of business
Restaurant.com just credited me the value of the certificates (face value - not what I paid) and I picked up a few more

Apparently I just have really bad luck with them them. It was possibly because I no longer had the e-mail address I used to buy it, but I still had the number for the cert and everything so I don't know. I didn't raise too much of a fuss over $4 or whatever it cost me.

you buy them for the restaurants they have in their list..

but its like like its free food. you've still gotta spend a minimum amount.. usually $10-20 more than the certificate is worth. you're still getting a good deal, but its not free food. and a lot of places do not use it towards alcohol. but you can call them ahead of time and ask.

some places will, and thats the place to go.
ive used a lot at north ridge pub, heck i bought so many i had some expire cuz i didnt use them. 80% is a heck of a deal. the best ive gotten was 70%

but to be 100% sure, make sure you call the restaurant and ask them your Q, take the persons name incase there are any issues.

I can get page one of results to load, if I search by zip code, and not by state + city, but I can't get any other pages.

I never did like Amedeo's

went out to this place called Zaytoon's the other night
middle eastern fare and you order for the whole table, plus it was BYOB

party of 6 got away with a $60 tab (after coupon) and we over ordered

seriously, get all of your friends together and try to use one of the $100 coupons

not worth it to me unless the coupons cover alcohol

can anyone confirm/deny where the coupons would be accepted if you want to have a few beers with your meal ?

A bunch of them say "excluding alcohol" or something similar. If it doesn't say that you should be fine.

I picked up a few of these last month and hit up Blue Corn Cafe in Durham yesterday and used one. I was really disappointed with their food, as I had never ate their before. $20 for fajitas with the driest yellow rice, like it was cooked 3 days ago, 5 shrimp, 3 slices of steak, and 3 slices of chicken - Toreros so beats their ass considering they charge for salsa also, which really sucked. My bill came to $25 after the $25 off, so $50 for 2 sets of fajitas, salsa, 2 teas, and gratuity and tip - whatta bummer. I could have gotten 2 things of fajitas at Toreros with 2 teas and used my 15% off card for for like $22, with tons of free chips and salsa. These restaurants are a money racket.

Just bought $40 dollars of coupons for Firebelly's in Wilmington. They've got a dollar beer/taco night I'm looking forward to. Says nothing about limiting it to 1 coupon or not being able to use the coupons with alc. So WEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Just snagged one for Gourmet Factory and one for Cueva de Lobos (formerly Los Cazadores).

I should have gone ahead and bought one for Old Time too, but I hate that you can't use it until after 5pm.
