For my part, I agreed to housesit for my parents out in bumfuck for a week, because I'm bad at math and didn't realize that the week starting on October 26 would go on until after Halloween, which is a night I normally try to do at least something social. Not that it would have mattered, because my core group of friends are all on the Bud Light Party Cruise all weekend, so I would have been reduced to calling casual acquaintances asking them what was going on. For this reason my friends are douchebags. Also my parents.

As a result I'm sitting in the middle of the woods drinking by myself and becoming increasingly freaked out by the Christmas decorations that surround me, against all common logic, on Halloween. Also, bitching to an unconcerned wolfweb and expecting it to answer in kind.

I'm always trying to thread the drinking pace needle. Drink too slow, and I basically stay sober. Drink too fast, and I stay up all night in a blacked-out semi-hallucinating state in which I make an utter ass of myself.

Just right, and I start getting sleepy just as everyone else has passed out while maximizing intoxication. As a result, I not only get to enjoy being drunk but the next day I get to call everyone else a pussy for passing out earlier than I did.

the trick is to drink on the regular, and the window of presentable intoxication widens dramatically

*except it's soporificity lessens, so you basically fall back to your usual sleep schedule, which may be good or bad depending on the party and your sleep schedule

In order to black out, I normally need to drink liquor consistently from around two in the afternoon until around two in the morning. This typically results in hilarious consequences, like vomiting in my bartender's living room, accusing a street lamp of plotting to destroy me and (logically) destroying nearby tiki torches in retaliation, and getting arrested at my cousin's wedding.

Underage + Roadtrip = drinking some sort of mixable liquor. Mountain dew + vodka = good and i only had to pay for the mountain dew. This was continuous drinking for 14 hours
